What The CMIE - AIIMS Provides
CMIE–AIIMS supports the translation of health technologies through access to clinical validation, regulatory advisory, research infrastructure, and structured mentorship. It is a technology incubator, not an accelerator, and does not provide funding, investment, or seed grants. Commercial scale-up is not the focus of the programme.
Readiness range. The Centre supports technologies between TRL 3 and TRL 7. Its role is to help move a validated proof of concept toward demonstration in an operational clinical environment. Technologies materially below TRL 3 or beyond TRL 7 may fall outside current scope.
Basis for incubation. The Centre incubates ventures pursuing genuine technology translation. Access to the AIIMS clinical environment and data is an enabling element of that work, not a service offered on its own. Applications seeking incubation solely for clinical validation or data access will not be considered. Applicants must set out clear, specific objectives and a genuine need for the Centre’s wider support.
- The approximate incubation turnaround time is 90 days from the date of application.
- CMIE-AIIMS does not offer virtual incubation.
- Physical incubation is mandatory at the NCI-AIIMS Jhajjar Campus, Haryana.
- Incubatees are required to accommodate the physical incubation requirements and at least one team member is to be placed at the NCI–AIIMS Jhajjar Campus. Failure to comply with the required physical presence within 30 days may result in termination of incubation.
- Incubation is offered where a technology’s translational requirements align with the clinical, regulatory, and research capabilities at AIIMS, New Delhi, and with the expertise of the assigned mentors.
Completing the form. The application is weighted toward the technology, its readiness, the regulatory and clinical pathway, intellectual property, and -importantly – the specific support you seek from the Centre. Complete all sections and attach the documents listed in the checklist. Third Party manufactured or developed products should have requisite FTO consents.
