Central Animal Facility

Central Animal Facility (CAF) breeds, maintains small rodents like-
  • Rats (Wistar)
  • Rats (Sprague Dawley)
  • Mice (Swiss Albino)
  • Balb/c
  • Mice C57BL/6
  • Rabbits (New Zealand)
  • Guinea Pigs (Dunken Hartley)
The Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (I.A.E.C.) periodically meets to cleared projects on laboratory animals (Rat, Mice, Rabbit, Guinea Pig and Hamster) of various investigators/mentors of the different departments of Institute.

CAF @ AIIMS also provides support for all experimental, surgical and clinical procedures of small animals/rodents.

The mentors associated with the incubatee would apply for the Institutional Animal Ethics Certificate (IAEC). The work on pre-clinical trial by the incubatee can be initiated only ones the mentor gets IAEC clearance.
