About AIIMS
All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.
AIIMS Delhi, the premier Indian medical institution with excellent track record in Education, Research and Health Care can create an unparalleled ecosystem of Incubation of Innovations for Entrepreneurship and Inclusive Development of Indian Health Care. It has largest clinical resources with approximately 12000 new patients attending the OPDs every day along with mentoring resource from finest experts in diverse medical fields which can generate innumerable novel ideas to solve the unmet needs leading to commercially viable innovations and their translation to bedside medicine. AIIMS has already initiated collaborative research partnering with leading institutions like IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, THSTI following MOU. It has also collaborative research program with several institutions abroad like UCL UK , Deakin University, Monash University Australia , Indiana University, Ohio State University, Michigan University USA along with several leading Indian institutions.
The extension campus of AIIMS has been developed at Jhajjar, Badsha, Haryana over an sprawling area of 365 Acre. It is 48 KM from AIIMS main campus at Ansari Nagar and 38 KM from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has been developed at Jhajjar campus as the leading centre for cancer management in India with state of the art facilities over an area of about 65 Acre containing a 710 bedded cancer hospital. The biobanking facility, advanced laboratories for proteomics, genomics, biomarker research and animal house are being developed with a building for translational research at NCI.
